The first edition of the Easy-Write Process appeared way back in 2006. In those days, I was transitioning from writing for magazines (in addition to copywriting for a stable of long-term clients) to writing for the Web.

By 2006, I'd already spent almost a decade writing for the Web, and I even wrote a book for the publisher Allen & Unwin on how the Web worked for business, but most of the companies I worked with still considered the Web something of a waste of time.

All that's changed now.

Nowadays, the global financial crisis has ensured that companies trim their promotional budgets to the bone. They realize that their customers are on the Web, which means that they need to be there too. And since Web marketing is much cheaper than traditional marketing, they're very happy about it.

For me, and for other writers, this has meant that our work has literally exploded.

This means one thing…

We're expected to write more – much more.
